What is Oktoberfest?
Oktoberfest is a 16–18 day folk and beer festival held annually in Munich, Germany, starting in mid-September and ending on the first Sunday in October. The tradition began in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese, featuring a horse race that has since evolved to include large beer tents, traditional food, Bavarian culture, amusement rides, and parades. It has grown into the world's largest beer festival.
